2023 opener: Ohio State vs. Indiana, Indiana loss

NFL, and former wide receivers coach Brian Hartline has been promoted to offensive coordinator.

Ohio State, and it won't be this season.

Indiana had a productive drive that went 14 plays and 51 yards. It ended when Brendan Sorsby threw an incomplete pass intended for Andison Coby on 4th and 13 at the OSU 42-yard line.

Ohio State then marched down the field for a drive that lasted 14 plays and 54 yards. Jayden Fielding capped off the drive with a 22-yard field goal. Indiana's defensive backs looked really strong this last drive and stopped numerous passes from being caught in the endzone.

Kyle McCord was the official starter, but we saw some samples of what Devin Brown can do in a reserve role. Head coach Ryan Day said the battle was still ongoing, although McCord did play by far the most snaps.

Cade Stover (98 yards) and Julian Fleming (58), while Marvin Harrison, Jr. and Emeka Egbuka had 34 yards combined

Hopefully, you are fortunate enough to be at home Saturday to be able to watch No. 3 Ohio State face Indiana on TV as the Big Ten on CBS era officially gets underway. It also marks the start of a new era for the Buckeyes. Former quarterback and Heisman finalist C.J. Stroud is gone to the NFL, and former wide receivers coach Brian Hartline has been promoted to offensive coordinator.

It's also the second straight season the Buckeyes begin the year without the title of reigning Big Ten champions, though they did reach the College Football Playoff and nearly knocked off the eventual champion Georgia Bulldogs in the semifinals. But almost winning things has never been the gameplan for Ohio State, and it won't be this season.
