NEW RIEGEL – A Northwood woman was reportedly involved in a crash that injured a child. The Norwalk Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the car versus pedestrian crash that occurred on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. on Ohio 587. Leah Rymers, 44, Northwood, was driving a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan northwest on Route 587. Nicholas Kirtland, 11, of Salisbury, Maryland, was a pedestrian on the sidewalk in front of a café. He entered the roadway from between two parked vehicles and was struck by Rymers, according to the patrol. Rymers was wearing her safety belt and was not injured. Kirtland was taken by Life Flight to Mercy Health – St Vincent Medical Center in Toledo with serious injuries
