Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 4300 block of Young Creek Road in Ukiah about 6 p.m. Saturday, regarding a coroner’s case. Upon arrival, deputies learned the decedent, a 54-year-old woman from Ukiah, had been involved in an ATV accident while traveling on a narrow trail. The deputies contacted a California Highway Patrol officer who was at the scene conducting an investigation into the accident. “Sheriff’s Office deputies learned the ATV began to tip over, when the decedent (whose name was not released) jumped out and attempted to stop the ATV from tipping,” the MCSO reported.
