The overwhelming majority of New Yorkers feel less safe now than they did during the pandemic, according to a new poll.  A survey released on Tuesday by Siena College Research Institute shows that 70 percent of New Yorkers felt less safe now than before COVID-19. A quarter of respondents said they feel about as safe as before the pandemic, and just 3 percent said they feel more safe.  Additionally, 76 percent feared that they personally would be the victim of a violent crime.  Sixty-nine percent said they were concerned that a gunman could target their neighborhood because of their race, religion or ethnicity, the poll showed.
