Savener, the Spanish engineering consultancy, has announced that it has won the design contract for the Barka V sea water reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination plant in Oman, which will feature a capacity of 100,000 cu m per day. In a statement, Savener said that after months of international competition, the EPC formed by the Spanish GS Inima and the Italian Fisia Italimpianti selected Savener to carry out the design of practically all the engineering of the installation, signing a contract that will involve more than 50,000 hours of work.
