Readers sound off on good sportsmanship, limits of flirtation and librarians ...Middle East

NY Daily News - Opinion
Bronx: I’ve just concluded your article “After 50 years, Ali-Frazier” (March 8). After all is said and done, the underlying story was Muhammad Ali’s acceptance that he lost. He acknowledged that at some point you are going to lose, and your supporters will see how you, as a man, accept losing. Ali did not blame the referee or judges, neither the press nor the Frazier supporters. Ali recognized on the night of March 8, 1971, that Joe Frazier, the world heavyweight boxing champion, fought the better fight, if only for that one night. Ali was not in denial.
