EGYPT INDEPENDENT - News
Sudan said that it will resort to the International Justice Court in the event that Ethiopia carries out its second filling of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) without reaching a binding agreement with Egypt and Sudan. Sudanese Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Yasser Abass said that Ethiopia has refused Sudan’s quartet mediation proposal and has even accused the African Union of siding with Ethiopia. “We are studying different options including resorting to the International justice Court, Human Rights Courts, and COMESA Court,” he explained. However he shot down any threat of conflict, stating “We do not expect war between the three countries because of the GERD issue.”
