Republican Yemen A high-ranking military commander was killed Friday in ongoing battles with the Iran-backed Houthi militia west of Marib city, military sources said. Major General Amin Al-Waeli, Commander of the Sixth Military Region, was killed on Friday night at the Kassara front while defending the city from the Houthi rebels, a military official said on condition of anonymity.
