The 30-year-old actor was spotted filming alongside his Beatles biopic co-stars Harris Dickinson, Barry Keoghan, and Joseph Quinn at Camber Sands in East Sussex, England, last week.
The four actors recreated a playful 1963 seaside photoshoot featuring the legendary British band, complete with colorful striped swimwear, beach umbrellas, and deckchairs.
Mescal, who portrays Paul McCartney in the upcoming films, wore a pair of tiny striped shorts as he ran barefoot across the sand and splashed through the water with Dickinson, who plays John Lennon. Keoghan, portraying Ringo Starr, and Quinn, who takes on the role of George Harrison, joined them for the nostalgic scenes.
According to the Daily Mail, the original photographs were taken in July 1963 by photographer Dezo Hoffmann at Brean Down beach in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. At the time, The Beatles were performing twice nightly at the town’s Odeon as part of their UK tour.
The pictures captured the band enjoying themselves by the seaside in Edwardian-inspired striped swimwear, offering fans a glimpse of their playful personalities before Beatlemania took over the United States.
