Sister Wives star Christine Brown is getting candid about the end of her 25-year marriage to Kody Brown. According to People, Brown, who shares six kids with the 57-year-old, opened up about the end of their marriage to her former sister wife, Meri Brown, during the Nov. 1 episode of the TLC reality show.
After Meri explained that leaving Kody was a “process,” Brown shared that her experience was similar. But what ultimately marked the end of her relationship with Kody was his refusal to come to Ysabel’s back surgery.
“That was the biggest [thing]. I was like, I can’t be married to this guy anymore,” Brown said. “He just says, in front of Ysabel’s face, ‘I can’t leave my family that long.’ And she was like, ‘I thought we were family.’”
But Kody not showing up to Ysabel’s surgery wasn’t the only reason Brown left the TV personality. She revealed that Meri also influenced her divorce. During the episode, she noted a Season 10 conversation between the two of them during which Christine told Meri, “I can’t do marriage with Kody anymore.”
At the time, Meri tried to tell her to focus on the view surrounding their Coyote Pass property. But Brown remembered not caring “about those mountains anymore.”
She also recalled how a conversation with Kody at the time confirmed how strained their marriage was.
“He wasn’t attracted to me. He wasn’t interested,” she said regarding what Kody told her at the time. “And he came over, and he starts going up the stairs. I said, ‘What are you doing?’ And he’s like, ‘Well, I’m gonna go to bed.’ I’m like, ‘Your bed’s not here. You have to leave.’ ”
Kody then asked Christine where his bedroom was and she told him, “I don’t know. It’s not here. That’s my bedroom. The only person allowed in there is me, ‘cause I actually wanna be with me.”
