ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The first-ever Trunk-or-Treat event took place at Goodman Plaza in Rochester, drawing hundreds of kids in costumes for Halloween fun.
Organizers said this was a way to bring Rochester together in a big way and aimed to give families a safe and fun celebration. Children enjoyed candy, gifts and activities like a bounce house.
“This is huge. The best thing that’s happened to this community. They’re loving it, loving it,” said Jose Peo.
“Loving it. I mean, I’ve have never seen so many kids in one spot. I had 600 bars of candy. I’m almost out. I just told my mother you have to go back to Costco and get us more candy. This is, this is wild,” said Michael Tandoi.
Tandoi said everybody who was handing out candy ran out and everyone went home with smiles.
Concession sales raised in the event will go towards the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester.
