Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff have filed for divorce.
The actress and the Bleachers frontman, who began dating in 2021 and married in August 2023, separated earlier this year. On Friday, Oct. 30, the pair officially filed for divorce, according to a source close to the former couple who spoke to People.
While the state of New York requires both a plaintiff and defendant to be listed on a divorce filing, the source insists the divorce was mutually agreed upon.
“Jack and Margaret are filing for divorce jointly,” the source said. “This is a mutual decision.”
“They share a deep affinity and love for one another, and though their romantic partnership is ending, they will absolutely be lifelong friends,” the source added.

News of the couple’s separation first broke in July. At the time, sources described their relationship as “rocky,” and said the pair were trying to “figure things out.”
Before news of the separation surfaced, fans had begun speculating that something was amiss after noticing Qualley had quietly removed several posts featuring Antonoff on Instagram. Among the missing photos were pictures from the couple’s wedding, fueling rumors that the pair had split.
The singer-songwriter recently addressed his separation from Qualley in an interview with The Guardian, saying that performing his songs about her, despite their current relationship status, has been “really beautiful.”
“Songs which I wrote recently, I obviously was really worried about this specific thing,” he began.
“I sat long and hard with it and thought, ‘If I change the setlist …’ and in my gut there was a unanimous jury that said, ‘No, this is the deal. The deal I’ve made with my audience is that I’m going to tell you honestly how I feel and I’m going to risk at any moment having to stand behind it for f—ing ever,’” Antonoff said.
He added that he sees no reason to rewrite the past and “would rather live through something publicly than even escape it privately.”
