Bruce Springsteen fans have a new reason to turn up the volume. The rock legend and the E Street Band have released the final installment of their concert film documenting a major show in Philadelphia—and it features some of Springsteen’s most beloved songs.
On Wednesday, Oct. 28, Springsteen, 77, shared the fourth and final part of Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour: Philadelphia Freedom Cut. The latest release captures the entire encore from the band’s May 30 concert at Philadelphia’s Xfinity Mobile Arena. With its arrival, fans can now watch all 27 songs from the tour finale.
The five-song finale opens with “American Land” before launching into three signature Springsteen hits: “Born to Run,” “Dancing in the Dark” and “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out.” The band then closes the show with its take on Bob Dylan’s “Chimes of Freedom.”
Bruce Springsteen Fans Held Up Emotional Signs During ‘Born to Run’
The release also captures an emotional moment between Springsteen and his audience. During “Born to Run,” fans held up signs reading “Thank you for OUR Lifetimes,” a tribute to the decades of music and connection Springsteen has shared with his listeners.
Fan Suzanne Lovett of Providence, Rhode Island, came up with the idea for the signs. Springsteen previously described the gesture as a “lovely thank you,” explaining that it recognized not just the tour but the years of shared commitment between the band and its fans.
Before the final song, Springsteen addressed the Philadelphia crowd with a message about hope, faith and taking action.
“We needed to feel your strength, and your hope, and your faith,” he said, adding that he hoped the band had given the audience some of that strength in return.
The concert film series began rolling out in September, with the remaining portions released over the following weeks. The project was directed by Chris Hilson and Thom Zimny and produced by Springsteen alongside Jon Landau, Zimny and Adrienne Gerard. It was released in memory of writer and activist Dave Marsh, a longtime friend of Springsteen’s, who died in August.
