GREECE, N.Y. — Two massive trucks carrying oversized loads traveled through Greece on Monday night on their way to Eastman Business Park on Latona Road.
News10NBC’s photojournalist spotted the trucks around midnight on Ridgeway Avenue. A New York State trooper told him that, because of the load’s size, the move required coordination between multiple state and local agencies. According to the trooper, one truck was 135 feet long, 15 feet tall, and capable of carrying up to 485,000 pounds.
This comes just over a month after three massive storage tanks also traveled to Eastman Business Park for what crews said was a clean energy project. It also comes a week after the governor announced that a rare earth mineral separation facility is coming to Eastman Business Park. Phoenix Tailings, a Massachusetts-based company, picked the site to build a $375 million facility. However, there’s no word yet on whether either of these is connected to the two trucks our photojournalist spotted.
