His club numbers in particular are off the roof – since signing for Bayern Munich in 2023, Kane has 156 goals in 158 competitive appearances. His recent penalty in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the Champions League lifted him to sixth position in Bayern’s all-time goalscorer list.

Kane’s contract currently expires in the summer of 2027, but there are reports of a new deal agreed in principle between him and club until 2029.

Sadio Mane

The move that triggered Kane’s acquisition was Sadio Mane’s departure. The Senegal international moved from Bayern Munich to Al Nassr in the same transfer window, snatching the opportunity to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia.

The Liverpool icon signed a four-year deal back then, which means he is in line to become a free agent at the end of the current season. Earning £650k a week, Mane is expected to bag approximately £140m by the time his contract ends.

In 2025/26, he won the Saudi Pro League, scoring 14 goals in 36 league appearances. At only 34, Mane still has a couple of seasons in him, but it is unlikely to see Al Nassr extend his stay in Riyadh.

Mane left Anfield in 2022 having made 269 appearances, scoring 120 goals in all competitions, after signing from Southampton in 2016.

Bruno Fernandes

Arguably Manchester United’s most important player, Bruno Fernandes is out of contract in the summer of 2027, although the club has an option to extend for a further year. United, as we understand, are hoping to tie the Portuguese down to a renewed deal.

Fernandes, who broke the Premier League assist record last season, is reportedly at a deadlock with the club in terms of career progression. However, he remains the club’s most dependable player in tumultuous times.

On another note, United could also cash in on the 32-year-old in the winter transfer window come January instead of risk seeing him become a free agent.

One thing is for sure: Bruno’s long-term future is in doubt at the club where he made a name for himself. He has 111 goals in 334 appearances for the Red Devils since joining from Sporting Lisbon in 2019/20.
