User Experience
INIU’s packaging is pretty straightforward. It is predominantly teal (brand color) and is well labeled according to what is included in the box. When I took the power bank out of the box, I was surprised at how thick it is. I’ve had other high-capacity power banks that are much longer than the P63, so having a shorter, stouter power bank was a welcome change. Even though it’s a bit heavy and bulky to carry in a pocket, it works just fine for a laptop bag or backpack. Out of the box, the power bank had a 51% charge. Before I started using it, I charged it to 100% using the included USB-C cable.
The power bank definitely feels sturdy, and I love its simple, sleek design. It has a lanyard that is pre-installed to hold the included USB-C charging cable. I’ve seen lanyards made with USB-C cables before, but I didn’t expect this one to completely detach from the lanyard loop. This design does allow for a bit more flexibility for how you use the power bank, so I rather prefer it to the built-in cables. The cable itself is very durable. It’s flat and fabric-covered, so it will definitely hold up to many different tasks. The display is helpful, but it does only show the percentage of the power bank and not the power output or input. Even without that information, it’s very easy to read, and I’m glad it’s included.
One of the first tests I ran was just to see if the power bank would indeed power a MacBook Pro. I tested it using a 14-inch, 2024 Apple M4 MacBook Pro. I plugged it in and the MacBook recognized it as a suitable power source immediately. I let the power bank continue as the main power supply for about 15 minutes and it seemed to work very well.
To put the power bank through its paces, I also completed a timed charging test using an iPhone 18 Pro and recorded the battery percentage over two timed intervals. For this test, I used the INIU P63’s 45W USB-C output port to charge an iPhone 18 Pro. Although the port supports up to 45W, the iPhone determines how much power it draws based on its charging requirements and current battery level.
During the first test, the iPhone went from 56% to 80% in just 14 minutes, gaining 24 percentage points at an average rate of 1.71% per minute. This provided a useful boost in a relatively short amount of time. Once the battery reached 80%, charging slowed noticeably as the iPhone entered its slower charging phase. Over the next 16 minutes, the battery increased from 80% to 92%, adding 12 percentage points at an average rate of 0.75% per minute. That’s a reduction of approximately 56% in the charging rate compared with the first interval.
This slowdown is expected as an iPhone approaches a higher battery level, since the phone manages its own charging speed to help control heat and battery stress. It’s also worth noting that the P63’s advertised 100W output represents its maximum USB-C output, not the amount of power the iPhone draws throughout the charging process. Actual charging speeds depend on the phone’s charging requirements, battery level, and temperature.
Overall, the test showed that the INIU P63 provided a quick initial charge, while getting closer to a full battery took considerably longer. For anyone who needs a quick top-up before heading out, charging from a lower battery level to around 80% is likely to be more time-efficient than waiting for the phone to approach 100%.
The power bank’s battery level also provided a useful reference for the test. It started at 100% and dropped to 88% by the time the iPhone reached 92%, a decrease of 12 percentage points over the 30-minute test. During that time, the iPhone gained 36 percentage points of battery life. While this doesn’t measure the exact amount of energy delivered, it gives a practical indication of how the P63’s available charge held up during a real-world phone charging session.
Throughout my testing, I did not notice the battery overheating at all. It remained cool and seemed to handle power efficiently.
Conclusion
The INIU Cougar P63-E1 is a capable portable power bank for anyone who needs to keep a laptop, smartphone, or other USB-powered device running away from an outlet. Its 25,000mAh capacity, up to 100W USB-C output, and three charging ports give it plenty of flexibility for working remotely, traveling, or handling a busy day away from home. As a versatile backup power source, the P63-E1 delivers a useful combination of capacity, charging options, and convenience.
