Stormy is a member of Party Donkeys, a team of miniature horses who serve beverages and smiles at weddings, birthdays, barbecues, and private events across Santa Barbara and SLO counties.
Stormy's medical emergency has put his planned Christmas visit to pediatric and geriatric patients at Northridge Hospital in jeopardy while caretakers seek public donations for his treatment.
Stormy was born with congenital tracheal malformation, a structural defect in his windpipe that causes breathing difficulty.
Although he managed the condition for most of his life, his breathing worsened dramatically in recent weeks, prompting his caretakers to seek specialized veterinary intervention.
Veterinary evaluations and specialized airway examinations are required to determine the safest treatment approach.
