ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Our quiet and bright weather will continue through the end of the week, but we’ll be tracking a cold front on Thursday. We’ll start the day off with sunshine and a few clouds. Clouds will increase for a few hours by later in the afternoon and evening as a weak cold front approaches. This is a moisture-starved front, so we expect it to come through dry, but clouds will thicken up a bit temporarily.
High pressure builds back in quickly on Friday, meaning it’s back to a mostly sunny sky. It’ll be a few degrees cooler behind the front, with highs in the mid 50s Friday afternoon. Our weekend weather looks absolutely spectacular. It’ll be another chilly morning with temperatures in the low 30s and frost Saturday morning, but we’ll warm to near 60 by the afternoon under nearly full sunshine. Sunshine will remain dry, mostly sunny and turn warmer with highs into the mid 60s. The fall colors are nearing peak around the Finger Lakes region, and the weather couldn’t be nicer if you’re planning on checking out the foliage, whether it’s at a park or your own backyard.
We’ll start to see the quiet weather pattern breaking down next week, but really not until the middle of the week. An area of low pressure and cold front will pass through by Wednesday, finally bringing at least the chance for some rain back to our region.
