It’s a short week for the Bears and Patriots, and New England’s injury report is no shortage of names today, including five players ruled out and four more heading into Chicago with questionable designations.
Let’s start with who we know is out:
That’s three starters ruled out, including both guards and a starting outside cornerback. Pats head coach Mike Vrabel confirmed today that Vera-Tucker and Brown will be replaced by Walter Rouse and Matt Pryor.
Pryor (a former Chicago Bear) played 46 snaps on Sunday against the Jets and allowed one hurry and one quarterback pressure at right guard. Rouse played 14 snaps and allowed no pressures, but allowed four pressures, three hurries, and a sack in 41 snaps in Week 3 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Patriots’ offensive line has fared well this season in ESPN’s pass-block and run-block win rates, with the pass-block win rate at 56 percent (5th) and run-block at 75 percent (8th). But the unit has been banged up.
Safety Kevin Byard III (chest), linebacker Christian Eliss (chest), and safety Craig Woodson (shoulder) are all listed as questionable for tomorrow’s contest, but were all full participants on Wednesday’s final injury report of the week. Tackle Morgan Moses is also questionable with a foot injury, but he was listed as limited all week.
Here’s the Chicago Bears injury report for Thursday’s contest.
