Exclusive: Kylie Kelce Reveals the Famous Singer She Wants on Her Podcast Next—and Why They’d Have Plenty to Talk About

For Kylie Kelce and her family, holiday traditions include the recipes and meals from HoneyBaked Ham. The podcast host and mother of four (Wyatt, Finnley, Elliotte, and Bennett) is the new brand ambassador for The Honey Baked Ham Company and their “Traditions That Bring Us Home” campaign for this holiday season.

In a recent interview with Parade, Kelce tells us about the personal tie that she and her family have to this partnership since HoneyBaked meals are “one of the few consistent traditions that I can name from growing up.” The Cinnamon Baked Apples, she explains, were her late grandmother’s favorite, and she is now able to share them with her children as a connection to her.

In addition to family meals, Kelce ensures that the sentiment of everybody being welcome at their holiday tables is being passed down to her and Jason Kelce’s daughters. As far as new customs they have created as a family, Kylie shared how they now get their Christmas trees.

“We go and we cut down our own Christmas tree now, which is really exciting,” she tells us. “We go to a family farm nearby. That’s a really fun new addition that we’ve created as a family.”

While her husband Jason has retired from the Philadelphia Eagles, Kylie guarantees that “football will be on the TV” on Thanksgiving. Aside from the on-screen entertainment, she ensures that everyone in the family has some sort of role to play on the holiday.

“Definitely everyone’s pitching in. I always give the example of, my dad would be in the living room watching football games and we would take the bread to him, and he would have to rip it up for the stuffing,” she said.

And as for advice on hosting for the holidays? “Don’t take it too seriously,” Kylie suggests. “I think we kind of lose sight of the fact that – and maybe it’s just that I’m fortunate enough to have grown up in a house like this – but we kind of lose sight of the fact that the holidays are supposed to be about surrounding yourself with your loved ones. And your loved ones don’t expect you to stress yourself out.”

That leads into her second tip. “My other tip is if someone does it better, let them do it. That goes for if someone makes a really good, I don’t know, mashed potato, let them do the mashed potatoes. Let them bring it and enjoy it. But not me. Letting other people do it usually just involves making sure that I’m not doing things I don’t need to do.”

“The honey baked ham speaks for itself. That is the easiest crowd pleaser. And across the board, everybody loves it. And then when it comes to sides, I know I can’t make a baked cinnamon apple as well as HoneyBaked does, so I always pick those up. I have gotten mixed reviews in the past on my homemade mac and cheese, so when my kids deny everything else on the table, at the very least I will have the HoneyBaked Ham Mac and Cheese from the freezer. Pop that out and have a backup plan. But I think it’s so important to not stress about it and don’t think that it has to be like this perfectly-curated-something, that it really can just be about enjoying your time with your loved ones, sharing a delicious meal, and not letting the pressure get the best of you.”

As fans of Kylie’s Not Gonna Lie podcast, we had to ask about any dream guests she would love to have on the show. She responded with a fun story saying, “When I first started the podcast, I did an interview where I jokingly, but not jokingly, said a dream guest would be Michelle Obama because like, are we kidding? It doesn’t get better than Michelle Obama.”

“And then we did it. I made the joke: I swear I’m still sweating. I’m pretty sure I still have pit stains from that interview in particular. But I really feel just so fortunate, like some of the incredible human beings that I have gotten the chance to speak to and connect with.” In case you missed it, Kylie recently also joined Michelle Obama and her older brother Craig Robinson on an episode of their IMO podcast.

Other previous guests that Kylie mentions connecting with on her own podcast were A’ja Wilson, Trinity Rodman, and Ilona Maher. “There are these incredible women who are holding their own, speaking up for us, and doing their own thing.”

Kylie did name Pink as her next goal guest, explaining, “She’s from the Philadelphia area, so I feel like we could have a decent amount to talk about.”

She also teased guests for the near future that she is “very excited” about, telling us that the “season finale is expected to be in person, which I think is always the best interview. I just feel really, really grateful.”
