Metallica Rose Harrison was ordered to pay nearly $12,000 to Capital One in a civil judgment that was closed two months before she killed her husband and son during their family trip to Great Wolf Lodge, Us has exclusively learned.
Capital One filed a civil complaint against Harrison, 27, on May 14 claiming that she owed the company $11,824.36, according to a civil docket viewed by Us. Harrison then filed an intent to defend on May 27.
Three months after the initial filing, Magisterial District Judge Todd Carr ordered Harrison to pay the company the full amount of $11,824.36 on August 17.
The civil judgment was revealed after Metallica’s stepmother claimed that she drained her husband Charles Harrison’s 401(k) account in order to pay for their family’s three-week trip to the Great Wolf Lodge in Scotrun, Pennsylvania, a kitchen remodel and other expenses. It was on that trip when she allegedly killed Charles, 36, and their 3-year-old son, Tristan.

Metallica’s stepmother, April Thetga, previously told the New York Post that the mother of one had tapped Charles’ retirement account to pay for the trip to the resort. Police records and reports note that Metallica’s family was facing severe financial strain in the months leading up to the killings.
Charles, Metallica and Tristan arrived at Great Wolf Lodge on September 21, and they extended their reservation on October 5 with the plan to checkout on October 13.
“It was definitely odd, but they’d taken their 401(k) out. … There was nothing we could do about that,” Thetga said of the financial decision.
Despite the risky financial move, Therga said that her family wasn’t too concerned with the trip. She said that she even video called Metallica on the day before the murders, and she said she “loved us very much, just like she normally would.”
Metallica was charged with two counts of criminal homicide after she allegedly stabbed Charles and Tristan in the chest in their hotel room on October 12. She called 911 to report the murders, and police discovered that she had wounds to her wrist and neck when they responded to the scene.
While searching the room, investigators found two knives that staff members confirmed were not from the hotel. Authorities also found bottles of medication, as well as two containers of what appeared to be blood.

As she was taken into custody, Metallica reportedly told EMS personnel that she worked “so hard” to be the “best person” every day.
“It wasn’t supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That’s what I envisioned since I was a child,” Metallica said, according to an affidavit obtained by WNEP.
She also said she “wanted to be with her husband and son.”
It is not currently clear if Metallica has entered a plea or retained legal counsel. The investigation into the circumstances of the case remains ongoing.
