At 52, Hilary Swank is “elated” as she prepares to welcome her third baby.
The actress spoke to People in New York City at an EWG Verified Pop-Up. She opened up about her partnership with HealthyBaby and her pregnancy.
“I found out I was pregnant like everyone else,” Swank said. “You just take a test and you find out you’re pregnant. I was elated and just so grateful and so excited.”
Swank and her husband, Philip Schneider, currently have a pair of 3-year-old twins, Aya and Ohm. She is ecstatic for her children to meet their new sibling.
“So excited,” she said. “They are so excited and I’m due around Christmas time, so they will see babies at a restaurant and they’ll go up and they’ll say to the baby, ‘Can I tell you something? My mama’s having a baby and it’s coming at Christmas time.’ They tell everyone. And they wake up and they’re like, ‘Is it Christmas time yet?’ ”
“It really is gonna be the best Christmas present,” Swank added.
The Million Dollar Baby star is also the Chief Innovation Officer at HealthyBaby. She joined the company after finding out about “what toxicity does to our bodies.”
“I was really overwhelmed and I just thought, ‘Wow, there needs to be change in this space,’” Swank explained. “And so the first thing was we went and lobbied to pass a law for prenatals to be third-party tested so that we all know and can make a choice, an edified choice, on what we’re putting in our body for the health of this very susceptible fetus.”
“And then, now we just passed a bill with Governor [Gavin] Newsom in California, which is a very big part of the country,” the actress continues. “To create [a law that] all ingredients have to be transparent so that parents can also make a choice for what’s going on in their child’s most sensitive areas.”
