For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Bolles School’s Grace Higdon has committed to William & Mary as part of the Tribe’s 2027 recruiting class.
Higdon wrote the following regarding her commitment.
I am ecstatic to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at William & Mary! I want to thank my family, coaches, and teammates for their unwavering support and guidance through this journey. A special thank you to my parents for always believing in me and their endless sacrifices to make this dream possible. Thank you to Coach Nate and the William & Mary coaching staff for giving me this incredible opportunity. So excited for the next 4!! GO TRIBE!!!!
Higdon hails from Jacksonville, Florida, where she represents the Bolles School. She specializes in breaststroke and clocked her fastest 100 breast time of 1:04.12 at the FHSAA 1A Region 1 Championships in October of 2025. She notched her fastest 200 breast at the Florida Swimming Senior Championships in 2:18.97.
She has also delivered impressive IM performances over the last year, including a lifetime best of 2:05.73 in the 200 IM at the Region 1A Championships last October. Her best 400 IM came in 2023, cocking 4:36.13 at the HIGH Winter Classic.
At her most recent meet, the Florida Swims High School Invitational earlier this month, she finished 5th in the 100 breast in 1:08.47, though she swam a season best in the prelims in 1:07.76. She notched another 5th-place finish in the 200 IM in 2:10.92, though she was a touch faster in the prelims, clocking 2:10.61.
Higdon will race at the FHSAA Class 1A Regional Championships in early November, a meet where she swam several best times last season.

Based on her best times, Higdon would have ranked 3rd on last season’s roster in the 100 breast, 5th in the 200 breast, and 7th in the 200 IM.
This is a William & Mary squad more than capable of delivering another strong team performance, pursuing more CAA titles, and contending for years to come.
With some big meets still to come this season, Higdon should have golden opportunities to improve those times before her collegiate career.
Higdon will be joining a loaded 2027 class that includes Maggie O’Hara, Caroline Linkous, KK Sullivan, Alison Stalfort, Kylie Perkins, Ella Propper, and Anna Read McCormack.
