Jordan Health has named Natasha Jackson as its new CEO, with her start date set for Nov. 1. Jackson is a nurse by trade, but her career has taken her on a path in healthcare management. She comes to Jordan from St. John’s Living Center. She talks about her vision for Jordan Health. Jackson goes on to talk about the anticipated community engagement for 2027. She also explains the need for community partnership, including what it takes to keep Jordan Health running.
Jamala Ridley, the mother of Jameer Ridley Smith, visited to talk about her push for a new law. Ridley is advocating for legislation that would require all warehouses in the state to install metal detectors after her son was shot and killed in July 2025 while working at the Wegmans warehouse in Gates. She wants to turn the violent act of her son’s murder into something that can save lives.

Jeremias Maneiro, the founder of JMan AI, discussed artificial intelligence from the perspective of a small business. Maneiro, an AI strategist, said every small business should be using AI and offered advice on how to incorporate it into a business model, along with safeguards to put in place. He explains what AI should and should not assist with when businesses use it.
Sonya Miller, a breast cancer survivor, shared her story and wants to talk to all women about the things she said she did not hear anyone talking about 17 years ago when she was diagnosed. The Power of Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon is set for Oct. 25 at the Harrow East Ballroom. Miller said it is a luncheon like no other and encourages women to attend.
