Spring 2027 might seem like a lifetime away, especially when we’re still figuring out our Halloween costumes and holiday travel plans. But if you’ve been dreaming of a European getaway, bucket-list adventure or a multigen spring break family escape, you might want to stop scrolling and start booking.
Like, now.
According to travel experts, some of next spring’s most popular destinations are already experiencing serious demand. And with airfare prices seemingly climbing by the day, waiting until the new year to make reservations could mean missing out on the hotels, cruises and once-in-a-lifetime experiences you’ve been eyeing.
“Family travel is a large percentage of the travel we plan for clients, and the spring windows families depend on—like spring break and late May, when schools start to let out—always fill first,” says Elizabeth Gordon, co-founder and CEO of Extraordinary Journeys.
And she’s not exaggerating. According to Gordon, her company’s data shows that families book spring vacations an average of eight to nine months in advance.
“After Thanksgiving, availability can get very limited,” she warns.
Meanwhile, Michele Schwartz, founder and travel designer at Jet Setting with Me, says she’s already encountering sold-out experiences and limited hotel availability while planning clients’ spring 2027 getaways.
So which destinations should be at the top of your booking to-do list? We asked travel experts to reveal where travelers should lock in their plans before November rolls around.

6 Popular Spring Destinations Travel Experts Say to Book Before November
1. The Netherlands During Tulip Season

If wandering through endless fields of colorful tulips, photographing picturesque windmills and cruising along Dutch waterways sounds like your dream spring getaway, here’s your friendly reminder that you’re not the only one with that idea.
The Netherlands’ famous tulip season is one of Europe’s most spectacular springtime spectacles, but the window to experience it is surprisingly short.
“The bloom peaks for only a few weeks in April, and river ships carry limited guests,” explains Schwartz.
And if you’re hoping to experience the flowers on a river cruise or organized tour, you may already be out of luck for certain departures.
“Dutch tulip season is already booked,” she says. “When I looked this month, I couldn’t find a tulip season river cruise or tour still open to book.”
That doesn’t necessarily mean every hotel room or independent itinerary is sold out. But travelers hoping to secure a specific sailing, guided experience or preferred accommodation should start looking immediately.
After all, Mother Nature doesn’t exactly offer rain checks on tulip season.
2. Paris, France

Paris in the spring? Groundbreaking. But there’s a reason the City of Light remains one of the world’s most sought-after destinations when the weather warms up.
Between the blossoming gardens, sidewalk cafés and romantic strolls along the Seine, it’s hard to imagine a more quintessential European escape.
The problem? Spring is also a particularly busy period for the French capital, thanks to school holidays, major events and travelers flocking to the city for a little Parisian joie de vivre.
Schwartz learned this firsthand while planning an Emily in Paris-themed group trip for late May 2027.
“I am taking a group to Paris in late May for an Emily in Paris-themed trip, and I began searching for group accommodations in March of this year,” she explains.
Even with that much lead time, she encountered challenges.
“The trip dates had to move to May from earlier in Spring because French school holidays and the French Open squeezed hotel availability.”
Her experience is a good reminder that popular travel dates can become difficult to book well before the season actually arrives, especially for larger groups hoping to stay together.
If Paris is on your spring itinerary, consider securing refundable accommodations early and keeping an eye on the city’s event calendar before committing to your dates.
3. Walt Disney World (Orlando, Florida)

Think you’re the only family planning to spend spring break riding Space Mountain, meeting Mickey and making memories at the Most Magical Place on Earth?
Think again.
Walt Disney World is a perennial spring break favorite, and the combination of school vacations, warmer Florida weather and seasonal events can make finding the right accommodations a challenge.
“Walt Disney World fills up on its own schedule during spring break,” says Schwartz, who’s already booking clients for their 2027 vacations.
One thing she encourages travelers to pay particular attention to? Hotel promotions.
“The best room discounts have limited availability and disappear soon after they are announced.”
And there’s another reason spring is an especially appealing time to visit: the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, which transforms the park with colorful topiaries, elaborate gardens and seasonal food offerings.
While Disney has yet to announce all the details for its 2027 spring programming, travelers hoping to visit during popular school vacation weeks should consider securing their preferred resort and dates sooner rather than later.
As Schwartz puts it, “settling plans before the holidays always pays off.”

4. The Galápagos Islands, Ecuador

If your ideal spring vacation involves snorkeling alongside sea lions, spotting giant tortoises and exploring one of the world’s most extraordinary wildlife destinations, the Galápagos Islands deserve a place on your bucket list.
But unlike destinations where you can simply book a hotel and figure out the rest when you arrive, this protected archipelago requires considerably more advance planning.
“Family travel has long been a specialty for us, and booking well in advance is really important, especially to destinations that have daily limits on the number of people who can visit, like Machu Picchu and the Galápagos,” says Emmanuel Burgio, founder and CEO of Blue Parallel.
One of the biggest challenges is securing space on the region’s highly sought-after expedition cruises and private yachts.
Burgio notes that the Galápagos has a limited number of available cruise boats and cabins, making early reservations particularly important for families or travelers with specific accommodations in mind.
In fact, some of his clients are planning their trips as far as 18 months in advance.
“Booking this early in advance improves chances of securing the best accommodations or yacht, having access to the most experienced guides, and getting the insider access they’ve come to count on with us,” he explains.
Translation? If you’ve been dreaming of a spring wildlife adventure in the Galápagos, don’t wait until January to start looking at your options.
5. Machu Picchu, Peru

Machu Picchu is one of those places that somehow manages to exceed expectations, even after you’ve seen approximately a million photographs of its ancient stone terraces perched high in the Andes.
But visiting Peru’s most famous archaeological site isn’t quite as simple as showing up and buying a ticket at the gate.
Visitor numbers are regulated, and travelers must select from designated circuits and specific entry times, which can make securing the experience you want a little more complicated.
“People are getting smarter, or at least better informed, about how far in advance they need to plan,” says Burgio.
He notes that some Blue Parallel clients have recently been booking 18 months ahead, particularly for destinations like Machu Picchu, where daily visitor limits and timed-entry requirements can affect itinerary planning.
“To ensure they can go where they want to go for these peak periods, booking as early as possible is more important than ever,” he adds.
For travelers hoping to combine Machu Picchu with luxury accommodations, private guides and other experiences throughout Peru, planning ahead can make the difference between securing your ideal itinerary and having to work around whatever remains available.
The takeaway? Don’t leave one of the world’s most iconic bucket-list experiences to the last minute.
6. Santiago de Compostela, Spain

Planning to walk the Camino de Santiago in 2027? You might want to start reserving your accommodations sooner than you think.
According to Angie Orth, host of the Traveling with AAA podcast, next year is particularly significant for the famous pilgrimage route.
“Next year is a Holy Year on the Camino de Santiago, which occurs whenever the Feast of Saint James on July 25 falls on a Sunday,” she explains.
That religious designation is expected to bring additional pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela, especially during the popular spring and summer walking seasons.
And while part of the Camino’s appeal is the freedom to slow down, meet fellow travelers and embrace a little spontaneity, Orth warns that 2027 might not be the year to leave every overnight stay to chance.
“Accommodation on the final stretch from Sarria is expected to be extremely limited, especially for spring and summer departures,” she says.
That section is particularly popular because walking the final 100 kilometers is the minimum distance required to qualify for the Compostela certificate.
Orth’s advice? Reserve accommodations along the final stretch and in Santiago itself well in advance, while leaving some flexibility for the earlier portions of your journey.
“There will still be plenty of serendipity along the way, but you’ll want to make sure you have somewhere to sleep.”
Why Booking Spring Travel Before November Matters
If there’s one thing these travel experts agree on, it’s that the days of casually booking a popular spring vacation a few weeks before departure are becoming increasingly risky, especially if you’re traveling during school breaks or hoping to secure a specific experience.
Gordon says the spring travel windows families depend on tend to fill first, while Burgio points to regulated visitor numbers and limited cruise inventory as reasons to plan far ahead.
Of course, that doesn’t mean every flight, hotel or tour will be sold out come November. Travelers with flexible dates and destinations may still find plenty of options closer to departure.
But if you’ve got your heart set on a particular spring break resort, tulip-season sailing or once-in-a-lifetime adventure, the experts’ advice is pretty clear: Don’t wait.
As Schwartz sums it up:
“Book by November and the choices are yours. Wait until January, and the calendar chooses for you.”
