Just a few months after revealing her cancer diagnosis, R&B singer Nivea shared a huge health update with her fans.
While appearing on The Tamron Hall Show, Nivea, 44, revealed she is in remission.
“Yes, I’m very grateful,” she said between tears on the show, alongside her doctor, Dr. Colin Vale. “I couldn’t believe it because this happened to me this year only a few months ago, and even though explaining to me the success rate of the drug, we still didn’t know.”
She continued, “It’s been an adjustment, the symptoms. I’m tired a lot. I have other issues, bleeding. I found out I have fibroids. It’s a long little list, but I’m still on the better side than most. I’m not complaining.”

“Taking it day by day with a positive mindset & a heart full of gratitude! I’m blessed with the ability to still do what I love—music, continue to mother my children, and learn new skills that fuel me,” she told ABC News at the time. “I am and have been very blessed in this life and won’t ever take it for granted.”
Now, Nivea is focused on her career, releasing new music, and her four kids. Nivea has three kids with her ex-husband, record producer The-Dream, and a son with her ex-fiancé Lil Wayne.
After performing on The Millennium Tour last year, Nivea expressed her gratitude, writing, “Oh my Lamb…I’m truly speechless! I can’t believe I got so emotional on stage tonight, but it was the first time all 4 of my kids got to see their momma do her thing! I was just overcome with joy and proudness!!!”
