A large police response on the Eisenhower Expressway shut down several lanes mid-day Thursday as police investigated reports of an expressway shooting.
Illinois State Police said the incident happened around 11:30 a.m. on I-290 east of Central Avenue.
Footage from NBC Chicago’s Sky 5 chopper showed police blocking several lanes of the expressway around 12 p.m. near Harlem Avenue. Officers could be seen canvassing the roadway.
TrafficNet reported inbound lanes of the expressway were shut down between Harlem Avenue and Austin Boulevard.
Authorities said no injuries had been reported so far.
