The actress, who debuted a strawberry blonde bob at the 2026 U.S. Open in September, showed up at Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday, October 7, with the studio lights revealing a more platinum blonde hue.
When host Jimmy Kimmel asked if it’s true that blondes have more fun, Chastain quipped, “I’ve always had a lot of fun. But actually, it is funny being a blonde. I mean, (as) a red head, you can be quite, you know, sassy and no one (cares).”
“It’s special to be a red head, right?” Kimmel asked, and the Other Mommy star replied, “It’s very special to be a redhead, but it’s also nice to have a change every once in a while. And now, you know, when I’m a little bit sassier than normal, people look at me, like, shocked. Like, they expect me to be soft and demure.”
Chastain told Kimmel she was inspired to make her blonde look permanent while filming the upcoming limited series “The Off Weeks” with Ben Stiller for Apple TV.
“I just played a part where I had a very similar hair color in a wig and so, I guess I got to test drive the hair for 3 months. And I was like, ‘All right, I’m going I’m going for it!'”
In an interview with Net-a-Porter’s Porter magazine on October 5, Chastain revealed, “I have never dyed my hair – and it was such an experience. It wasn’t that I didn’t dye my hair because I was worried about other people. Just the worry of, like, ‘Am I going to ruin my hair?’ Now I just feel like, ‘I’ve never done this; I want to try it’. It feels good to be a blonde.”
