Chicago Bears Injury Report: Three Offensive Linemen, Two Running Backs Miss Practice

The first Bears injury report of Packers Week is not for the faint of heart.

Seven players missed practice, and three others were listed as limited participants. No one wants to see this on the week’s first injury report. But since it’s only Wednesday, we know things can change for the better. So I’m not going to let this put me into panic mode. That said, my concern level is a little higher than usual.

Chicago Bears Injury Report — Oct. 7, 2026

The following players have DNPs next to their respective names: RG Jonah Jackson (ankle), LG Joe Thuney (pectoral), RT Darnell Wright (ankle), RB Kyle Monangai (thumb, toe), RB D’Andre Swift (hip, knee), QB Caleb Williams (hamstring). I’m hoping these DNPs are the result of the Bears offense playing 89 snaps in Sunday’s win against the New York Jets and the desire of Chicago’s coaches wanting to give guys who did a ton of heavy lifting some extra time to recover. It wouldn’t be surprising at all for the Bears to give veteran players a rest day to manage wear and tear after their Week 4 performance.

WILL CALEB WILLIAMS RETURN TO PRACTICE NEXT WEEK?

Defensive tackle Grady Jarrett got a veteran’s rest day, so he sat out Wednesday. No big deal here. Mandatory Credit: Mike Dinovo-Imagn Images Three players were listed as limited participants on Wednesday’s injury report: LB Keyshaun Elliott (quad), LB Noah Sewell (Achilles), and DL Shemar Turner (knee). Sewell and Turner are working their way back from injured reserve and are in the midst of their 21-day practice window. With Marcus Davenport’s surprise retirement earlier in the week, it would be nice to see Turner return to full participation soon so Chicago could add some depth to its defensive line. Encouraging news in the secondary: Defensive back Cam Lewis (hip) was a full participant on Wednesday. Lewis was limited in two practices last week before being downgraded to a non-participant to end the week. He was listed as doubtful for Week 4 and was inactive on game day. If the Bears can get Lewis back in the mix, it will strengthen their defensive backfield. We’ll close it out on a high note, as cornerback Kyler Gordon (calf) had another full participation practice on Wednesday. The Bears do have an open spot on the 53-man roster. And Gordon is eligible to be activated from injured reserve. Perhaps that is something to watch this weekend.
