“These screenshots show only a small portion of an evidence log documenting the cyberbullying, ridicule, allegations, and targeted harassment Ken faced across social media over the years. There is substantially more that has yet to be documented,” Blanchard captioned the post. “People need to understand what sustained online harassment can look like when hundreds or thousands of individual posts, comments, videos, and discussions accumulate against one human being.”
She reminded people that Urker was “a real person,” as well as a “father and partner.”
With this post, Blanchard is advocating for a new law in Urker’s honor.
“Kenan’s Law is about turning awareness into change. It is about recognizing the cumulative impact of cyberbullying and pushing for stronger protections and accountability online,” she continued. “This evidence log isn’t the whole story. It isn’t even a fraction of it.”
In a statement to PEOPLE, Blanchard detailed her reasoning behind the post, saying that it’s because “there are people who participated in the harassment who would rather sweep what happened online under the rug than acknowledge the very real harm their words and actions can cause. I’m not going to let that happen.”
“There needs to be accountability—not only from the platforms that allow relentless harassment to continue, but also from individuals who build entire accounts and platforms around repeatedly targeting, humiliating, and harassing a person and their family,” she added. “I’m putting the evidence out there because people need to see the reality and the extent of what was happening. And what I’ve shared isn’t even a fraction of it. I cannot change what happened to Ken, but I can refuse to let what he endured be erased or minimized. If speaking up can help prevent another person or another family from experiencing this, then I’m going to keep speaking up.”
Urker was found dead at his home in Raceland, Louisiana, on Thursday, Oct. 1, the same day as his 34th birthday. TMZ reports that syringes and a spoon near a brown, powdery substance were found near Urker’s body, as well as another syringe on the nightstand. According to law enforcement records, a caller warned the police that Urker had threatened suicide, owned a gun, and was “dark place.” The police report obtained by TMZ classified his death as an overdose, with an autopsy being conducted on Friday morning.
No official cause of death has been released.
