ROCHESTER, N.Y. – This morning several spots around town saw temperatures as low as the upper 30s… But we warm up nicely today as southwest flow pulls in mild air ahead of a cold front. Temps rise to around 70 degrees this afternoon, but there may be a brief sprinkle around 1-2pm as partly to mostly cloudy skies fill in. It will be a bit breezy as well as winds gust out of the southwest up to 25 MPH.
Tonight the cold front will pass through which will bring another line of light showers shortly after midnight, but nighttime temperatures won’t actually be too bad with lows in the mid to upper 40s. Tomorrow the breeze increases as cooler air fills in, with northwest gusts up to 35 MPH, and due to how cold the air will be aloft, we may see a few lake effect clouds and rain showers, but nothing substantial. Highs will cap out near 60.
Monday night we have a frost concern, especially down south near the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier. Vegetation in the higher elevations are the most at risk, where temps could drop as low as the low 30s. Closer to the lakeshore temps will get down to the low 40s. We’ll keep our eyes on this and be sure to send out updates, so stay tuned.
We stay cool Tuesday before temps rise back to the upper 60s on Wednesday. Temps stay near average for the rest of the week.
