ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We had a beautiful sunset last night as a cold front and clouds departed our region… Behind that front comes clear, sunny skies and cooler air. Morning temperatures are spread out across the 40s with the lakeshore in the upper 50s, and we’ll all climb to only the low 60s today. Still comfortable however, with light winds and low humidity. If you wanna get out to the Hilton Apple Festival or go hiking down in the Finger Lakes, it’s a great day to do so.
Cool, clear, and calm conditions overnight will lead to lows in the mid 40s, then tomorrow we expect things to warm back up to the upper 60s/low 70s as southwest flow takes over. It will be a little cloudier than today, and we can’t rule out a brief and light afternoon shower, but the vast majority of the day will be dry and very enjoyable.
A front passes Sunday night which will bring a few more showers, and behind the front Monday comes cool temps once again, this time with breezy winds. Highs will be in the low 60s and the wind will gust up to 25 MPH out of the northwest. Lake effect clouds are likely but there should be some decent sun poking through them. Again isolated showers are not out of the question, but the cool temps and breezy wind will be the much more noticeable aspect of the day.
Tuesday morning will be very cool as high pressure resettles overhead… Lows will be in the low 40s. Some spots in the Southern Tier may reach the upper 30s. Clear and cool the rest of Tuesday as the mercury does not climb past the upper 50s. Wednesday morning again will be very cool, and there’s a small chance of some patchy frost developing in the Southern Tier. We’ll keep you updated on those chances, so stay tuned. Expect temperatures to bounce back and nudge slightly above normal over the next 6-10 days.
