Travis Tritt has been keeping busy on the road throughout 2026, but last week the 63-year-old country music legend revealed that a bout of pneumonia forced him to step away from the stage temporarily.
“I’m sorry to report that I was diagnosed with pneumonia earlier this week. Turns out that the pneumonia was actually present for the past 2 weeks, but I didn’t know it, because I’ve never had it before,” Tritt wrote in an Instagram post dated Sept. 24.
He also shared that he had been feeling weak and sluggish and, unfortunately, needed to cancel two September shows. The North Charleston show moved to Nov. 14, 2026, and the Macon show to April 22, 2027.
“The good news—you don’t have to do anything!” he added. “All tickets already purchased will be valid for the new dates. I fully expect to be back in the saddle next week. Thanks for understanding!”
Travis Tritt Has Been Forced to Reschedule More Shows
But Tritt did not get back in the saddle as planned.
View this post on InstagramIn a new announcement, the country star shared that his illness has sidelined him further, forcing him to miss his scheduled appearance at the Country Calling Festival in Ocean City, Maryland.
“As Travis Tritt continues to recover from pneumonia, he will unfortunately be unable to perform at the Country Calling Festival in Ocean City, Maryland, this weekend,” a statement shared on social media read.
Tritt was scheduled to perform Friday, Oct. 2, as part of the festival’s 2026 lineup. Country Calling runs Oct. 2–3 in Ocean City.
His Richmond Show Has Also Been Moved
Tritt’s scheduled Oct. 3 performance at the Altria Theater in Richmond, Virginia, has also been postponed.
“In addition, Travis’s show in Richmond, Virginia, originally scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3, has been moved to Thursday, Nov. 12,” the post added. “Tickets purchased for the original date will be honored for the new date.”
The Altria Theater confirmed the Richmond performance has been rescheduled for Nov. 12 at 7 p.m., citing illness in the touring party. Current tickets will be honored for the new date.
For now, fans will have to wait a little longer to see the country star back onstage as he continues recovering from pneumonia. But if the legend’s comments section is any indication, they’re more interested in wishing Tritt well.
“Honey, you take all the time you need to get well!” one fan wrote, adding, “You should just take the rest of the year to give yourself plenty of time to recover. We love you and need you to get well.”
“Continued healing prayers. We love ya T,” another wrote.
