A pleasant weekend is shaping up across the Chicago area, with sunshine expected alongside seasonable temperatures.
But there’s a catch: it’ll start out chilly.
Before the comfortable weather takes hold, conditions will turn noticeably cooler late Friday into early Saturday, with values quickly dropping into the 40s in some areas, NBC 5 Storm Team Meteorologist Kevin Jeanes said.
It’ll be jacket weather for the next few mornings, with temperatures hovering in the upper 40s near the lake and in the low 50s across much of the Chicago area.
For the day as a whole, expect highs in the mid-60s during what’s expected to be a bright afternoon. Readings will be just a couple of degrees lower along the lakefront.
Sunday morning will start chilly with temperatures in the 40s, but it’ll get warmer as readings climb into the 60s later in the morning. And there’s some good news – no rain is in the forecast this weekend.
The Bears game on Sunday looks fantastic, Jeanes said, with afternoon highs nearing 70 degrees.
High temperatures will range from the mid-60s up to the lower 70s for the next 10 days, as dry and seasonable conditions persist. Temperatures are then expected to climb above average for the second half of the week.
Rain chances will be minimal, with no precipitation in the forecast until the 10th day.
