The Chapel Hill Police Department has arrested a man who officers say fired a gun in the 100 block of West Franklin Street at around 7 p.m. Friday night. That area includes businesses such as the Yogurt Pump, White Sauce Bar & Grill and the Pulp Juice and Smoothie Bar. According to a release from CHPD issued at 8:14 p.m., there are no reports of injuries and no ongoing threat to the wider community.
As of the time of publication, the suspect’s name has not been made public. Police say the investigation is ongoing and additional information will be provided as available.
