Junior Nationals qualifier Jacob Lee has announced his verbal commitment to swim and study at the Air Force Academy beginning in the fall of 2027. He publicized the news on SwimCloud, writing:
I am incredibly honored and thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career and swim Division 1 at the United States Air Force Academy! I am grateful for the opportunity to serve my country while continuing to pursue the sport I love at the highest level. First, I want to thank my family for their patience, love, and support every step of the way throughout my swimming journey. I am also incredibly grateful to Coach Abi, Coach Ash, and Coach Gage, and all my teammates at Bellevue Club Swim Team for pushing me, believing in me, and helping me grow as both an athlete and a person. Lastly, I want to thank Coach Clayton and Coach Finch at USAFA for believing in me and giving me this incredible opportunity! #FearTheThunder GO FALCONS!
A senior at Lake Washington Senior High School in Kirkland, Washington, Lee has swum varsity since his freshman year. He also trains year-round with the Bellevue Club Swim Team, specializing in breaststroke and IM. He is coming off a breakthrough 2025-26 season in which he dropped more than three seconds in the 200 breast and 200 IM, just under a second in the 400 IM, and a little over half a second in the 100 breast.
He set most of his current PBs at the PN PC Premier Invitational, where he clocked 55.72 in the 100 breast, 1:59.83 in the 200 breast, and 3:59.29 in the 400 IM. His 200 breast time is a Summer Junior Nationals qualifying standard.
On the high school scene, Lee finished fourth in the 100 breast (56.36) and fifth in the 200 IM (1:51.86 – PB) at the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) 4A State Championships. He also helped Lake Washington to bronze in the 200 medley relay (25.58 breast split) and fourth in the 400 free relay (46.90 split).

Lee’s current lifetime bests would have qualified him for the ‘B’ finals in the 200 breast and 400 IM and ‘C’ finals in the 100 breast and 200 IM, setting him up to be an immediate contributor, with two full seasons of training still ahead before lining up at his first conference meet.
Lee joins Sam Fields, Kevin Foley, Drew Hopkins, Dylan Patterson, John Prudhomme, and Charlie Wang in committing to Air Force’s class of 2031 so far.
