WATERLOO, N.Y. — Another boil water order has been issued for properties located at 4-56 West Elizabeth Street and 17-38 Center Street in Waterloo.
According to the Seneca County Health Department, the water system lost pressure Thursday night due to the first of several water main breaks. The department says when water mains lose pressure, it increases the chance that untreated water and harmful microbes can enter water.
Harmful microbes in drinking water can cause diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches, or other symptoms, the health department says.
A boil water order was just issued last week for the same area, but was lifted a few days later.

The department says the waterline is being repaired Friday, but people will most likely need to boil water for the next three days.
