He added, "Gill has been phenomenal for India. He just gets better and better with time. His performance in England last year and since then, and the ODIs has been phenomenal.
"I'm surprised he doesn't play in the T20 squad for India, but he's so much talented that India will rest on his shoulders and expect a lot of big things from him during the World Cup."
Sourav Ganguly believes Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will win the World Cup
In another video uploaded by Star Sports, he spoke about the importance of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for the ODI World Cup 2027. He believes that they will be fresh for the major tournament and will look to finish on a high note, stating that Virat remains the best white-ball cricketer and Rohit Sharma has also picked up form.
Ganguly stated, "I think both Rohit and Virat are champions. I know it's still a long way. It's still one year away from the World Cup. But I'm sure they're going to make it because they don't play the other formats. They just play the 50 overs, which keeps them fresh. And they will be raring to finish on a high in the World Cup."
