ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A man from Afghanistan, living in Rochester, has pleaded guilty to visa fraud.
Dilbar Dilbar was arrested in May of last year. He was here on a special immigration visa after working as a translator for American troops in Afghanistan.

The U.S. Attorneys Office says he paid someone to submit the visa application using fake documents and letters. In court papers, the government suggested that Dilbar had ties to a terrorist group, but he was never charged with anything related to terrorism.
The judge sentenced Dilbar to six months in prison.
