USA Swimming has shared the event schedule for the three stops of the 2027 Pro Swim Series, including a new format for racing stroke 50s.
The three stops will take place in Nashville from January 14-17, Westmont from March 3-6, and Fort Lauderdale from April 21-24. Each will feature one 50-meter stroke that is contested over four rounds: prelims, quarterfinals, semifinals, and a final.
According to a press release from USA Swimming, this racing format is implemented at these Pro Series to help “prepare athletes for an evolving international racing landscape, giving U.S. athletes a chance to manage multiple high-intensity swims over three days in the 50m stroke events.”
The Nashville Pro Series will have four rounds of the 50 butterfly, Westmont will feature the 50 backstroke, and Fort Lauderdale will host the 50 breaststroke.
Prelims will take place on the 2nd day, followed by the quarterfinals later that evening. The following day will host the semifinals during the finals session, with the last day of the meet housing the event’s final.
This past season, USA Swimming shared a new structure for its Pro Series, which featured additional semifinal swims, more prize money, and a fourth day of racing.
