Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said Egypt is ready to provide Eritrea with technical support and training in areas it needs within the framework of the distinguished relations between the two countries.
Abdelatty made these remarks during a meeting on Wednesday with Hagos Gebrehiwet, Economic Adviser to the Eritrean President.
The meeting underscored the importance of further strengthening bilateral cooperation in line with the directives of the political leaderships of both countries.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nader Zaki said Abdelatty stressed Egypt’s interest in advancing economic cooperation, trade and investment between the two countries, as well as supporting the participation of Egyptian companies and the private sector in priority projects in the Eritrean market, particularly in energy, industry, infrastructure, trade, fisheries and pharmaceuticals.
Abdelatty also reviewed preparations for Egypt’s hosting of the El Alamein Africa Forum, scheduled for October 2-4.
The forum will provide a platform for strengthening economic and investment partnerships and connecting governments, business communities and financial institutions across Africa.
The two sides affirmed their commitment to continued consultation and coordination on issues of common interest in a manner that supports regional security and stability. (MENA)
