Josiah Collins from Carmel, Indiana, has announced his verbal commitment to Indiana University’s class of 2032, writing on social media:
“I am humbled, grateful, and honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Indiana University!! First and foremost, all glory to God! He has guided me through this process without fail and I am so grateful for it. I would like to thank my family and friends for their support through this process. I would also like to thank Coach Plumb, Coach Pfaff, and the entire staff at Carmel for believing in me and making my dreams reality. I would also like to thank Coaches Sutton, Clemons, and Close who have supported me through my journeys. Lastly, I would like to thank Coach Looze and the entire staff at IU for the opportunity to become the best person I can be! GO HOOSIERS!!”
A junior at Homestead High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Collins swims year-round with Carmel Swim Club and specializes in breaststroke and IM. We ranked him 18th on the Way Too Early list of top boys’ swimmers in the high school class of 2028.
Collins had some big swims at Winter Juniors East last December, clocking PBs in the 100 breast (55.70), 200 breast (1:58.84), 200 IM (1:48.98), and 400 IM (3:53.29). He swam breast (4th place) and IM (4th place) at the Indiana High School Boys’ State Championships in February, before lowering four lifetime bests at the Indiana LSC Senior Championships two weeks later. There, he placed 15th in the 50 free (21.50, PB), 7th in the 100 back (51.23, PB), and 2nd in the 200 breast (1:57.94, PB), and he also went a best time in the 100 free (46.74) while leading off the 400 free relay.
Collins kicked off 2026 long-course season with a huge PB in the 200 breast at Indy Sectionals, going 2:17.15 to place 3rd. At Indy Spring Cup, he dropped that time to 2:16.80 and also added a lifetime best of 2:06.70 in the 200 IM. At the TYR Pro Series in Indianapolis, Collins notched personal bests of 29.64 in the 50 breast, 1:04.78 in the 100 breast, 2:05.13 in the 200 IM, and 4:30.70 in the 400 IM. He closed out the summer at U.S. Nationals with new times of 1:03.38 in the 100 breast, 2:04.13 in the 200 IM, and 4:25.78 in the 400 IM.

It took 53.58/1:56.36 in the breaststroke and 1:46.36/3:49.22 in the IM to score at the 2026 Big Ten Championships.
