Amir Jangoo's hundred was also the second-fastest ODI century by a West Indies batter against India. Only John Campbell, who reached his century in 65 balls earlier in the innings, got there quicker.

Jangoo's innings eventually ended after he scored 114 from 77 balls, smashing 13 fours and three sixes. Ravindra Jadeja dismissed him in the 43rd over, with Ruturaj Gaikwad completing the catch at backward point.
Jangoo attempted to cut a short delivery outside off but could not control the shot. The ball travelled towards backward point, where Gaikwad initially struggled before completing the catch.
Amir Jangoo walked back after a strike rate of 148.05, having played a key role in West Indies' record-breaking innings. The wicket also ended a long wait for Jadeja, whose previous ODI wicket had come in December 2025.

Ruturaj Gaikwad speaks on not getting opportunities and current form
Ruturaj Gaikwad, who was part of India's playing XI, spoke about his return to international cricket and the challenges of batting at No. 4. He admitted that his previous century, which came against South Africa in December 2025, was a long time ago and that he had played several innings since then. He said:

“There is a lot of difference. As said, I've been opening the batting for almost more than 100 innings now at the first-class level. So, batting middle order, especially at international cricket, comes with different challenges. You have to rotate strike. You have to make sure that you take the right option.”
