ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A man convicted of murder is facing charges after Rochester Police say he stabbed a man in his 60’s multiple times Monday night on Genesee Street.
Police say Cordell Lanier, 48, stabbed the man near Loretta Johnson Middle School. According to police, the victim saw Lanier yelling at an unknown woman. The victim told Lanier to leave the woman alone, which police say made him angry, and a fight started.
During the fight, police say that’s when Lanier stabbed the victim multiple times before fleeing on a bike.
Officers later arrested him nearby on Stratford Park. He’s charged with assault.
Police say Lanier is also on parole for murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
