In 146 ODIs, the former Indian captain scored 4,091 runs with the help of four centuries and 27 fifties. His first-class career was equally impressive, as he scored 7,349 runs in 134 matches, with the help of 12 centuries and 45 fifties.
One of the biggest highlights of Srikkanth’s career came in the 1983 World Cup. He was an important member of the Kapil Dev-led India team that lifted the World Cup for the first time. After his playing career, Srikkanth was the Indian chief selector.
Ravichandran Ashwin’s stunning career
Ravichandran Ashwin was the latest Indian legend from Tamil Nadu. The Chennai-born off-spinner went on to become one of the most successful bowlers in Indian Test history. He finished his Test career with 537 wickets from 106 matches, including 37 five-wicket hauls.
Ashwin was also one of India’s most reliable all-rounders in Test cricket. In ODIs, Ashwin took 156 wickets in 116 matches, while he finished his T20I career with 72 wickets in 65 matches.
The former Indian star also won the World Cup and Champions Trophy. He was also a key player for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, winning multiple titles with them.
