One month after the death of Hayden Panettiere, her ex-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko is taking legal action to protect their daughter, Kaya.
According to TMZ, Klitschko filed a petition to be appointed as temporary guardian of Panettiere’s estate on behalf of their 11-year-old daughter.
According to Klitschko, “Kaya is entitled to the entirety of the assets subject to Hayden’s probate administration in California.”
However, he added that he was “informed” about Panettiere’s personal items and jewelry having “disappeared [and] remains unaccounted for.”
The September 24 filing reveals concerns of “a high probability that property belonging to Hayden’s Estate may be lost, damaged or dissipated before a duly appointed personal representative can be in place to protect it.”
He went on to say that, before her death, Panettiere expressed a “documented concern that an individual had gained unauthorized access to Hayden’s property.”
“It is expected that the individual will continue to try and misappropriate property belonging to Hayden’s estate,” Klitschko added. “Given the high publicity of Hayden’s estate, a personal representative needs to be appointed immediately to safeguard and protect Hayden’s home and contents.”
Panettiere died on August 16 at the age of 36.
She was found unresponsive inside an apartment in Greenville, South Carolina. Despite efforts to resuscitate her, the Ice Princess star was pronounced dead at the scene.
