Langston Lindsey from Chandler, Arizona, has announced his intention to swim and study at the University of Southern California beginning in fall 2027. He wrote on social media:
“After much thought and consideration, I’m excited to announce that I will be now continuing my academic and athletic career at the University of Southern California! I’m extremely grateful for everyone who has supported me throughout this journey and helped me get to this point. Thank you to my family, coaches, teammates, friends, and everyone who has believed in me along the way. Most importantly, a huge thank you to Coach Lea, Coach Kevin, Coach Keith, and the entire USC coaching staff for believing in me and welcoming me into the Trojan Family. I’m beyond excited for this next chapter and can’t wait to get to work with my new teammates. #ftfo ”
Lindsey is a senior at Arizona College Preparatory School. He swims year-round with Gold Medal Swim Club and specializes in sprint free, back, and fly. We named him a “Best of the Rest” recruit on our most recent list of top boys’ swimmers from the high school class of 2027. While we continue to rank him among the top sprinters in the cohort, he has improved in backstroke and butterfly (one might even say “exploded” in the latter) over the last 15 months. Indeed, during the 2025-26 short course season, he improved his 100 fly by 2.13 seconds. He also dropped 1 full second in the 100 free and .5 in the 100 back.
Lindsey is coming off a big summer, which saw him placing 3rd in the 100 fly, 9th in the 50 fly, and 13th in the 50 free at Summer Junior Nationals. He also clocked a lifetime-best 100 free (50.70) leading off the GM 400 free relay. One week earlier, he had placed 18th in the 50 fly and 22nd in the 100 fly at U.S. Nationals, earning PBs of 24.23 and 53.47 in the respective events. In July, he had swum best times in the 50 free (23.08), 200 free (1:53.50), 50 back (26.53), and 100 fly (54.40) at the Arizona Swimming LSC Senior State Championships.
In high school swimming, Lindsey is the reigning Arizona AIA Division I state champion in the 50 free and the double reigning champion in the 100 back. He won both events as a junior last fall with 20.56 and 48.63. In the fall of 2024, he won the 100 back in 50.01 and was runner-up in the 100 fly (49.19).

50 free – 20.05 100 free – 43.87 50 fly – 21.65 100 fly – 46.96 50 back – 22.73 100 back – 48.16Lindsey will join the Trojans’ class of 2031 with Jack Rodenkirch, who will make an excellent training partner with sprint free times of 21.12/44.33. Lindsey will have an immediate impact on the USC roster, as his times hover right around the scoring line for his individual events at the B1G Championships. Additionally, he has huge relay potential. It took 20.19/ 43.71 in the sprint free events, 46.48 in the 100 fly, and 46.54 in the 100 back to score at the 2026 conference meet.
