SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) - UC Santa Barbara has its first full week of school ahead and the students will have a chance to dig in to their studies and make a plan for their futures.
This comes at a critical time.
The job market for some who had plans in certain industries may be changing rapidly with the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) components to many aspects of the workplace. It is unclear how it will play out at the same time that robotics are also booming in companies that need, for example, something on an assembly line.
Colleges across the country including UCSB recognize the challenges and are assisting the students.
For those who are new to the campus, getting signed up for clubs and organizations has proven to be very helpful and a key to their academic success along with their overall college exerience.
The beginning of the school year also has many activities including college sports, some that have already begun and are drawing solid crowds as a place to support Gaucho spirit.
