Air Force One flew over a western suburb of Chicago on Sunday as President Trump made his way to the area for the Presidents Cup golf tournament.
Crowds at Medinah Country Club cheered as Air Force One flew overhead hours before the president was set to make an appearance.
“Ladies and gentlemen, Air Force One,” an announcer said on the speakers at the event as the plane flew by.
Gates at the Medinah Country Club opened to sectators at 8 a.m., though the president wasn’t expected to make an appearance until the closing ceremony of the tournament around 11 a.m.
Trump’s visit sparked both increased security measures and protests around the club.
Additional security restrictions were put in place throughout the event for Trump’s visit, according to the PGA Tour. Spectators will have to go through TSA style screening checkpoints at the first tee grandstand and surrounding areas.
