Soap Opera Network revealed details and confirmed that original cast member Deborah Courtney Pollack will be reprising her role as recently widowed Cal Aleata.

The soap is expected to open with two major events. First, a gala marking the opening of a charity organization, the “Dale/Sterling Foundation,” named after Vanessa Dale (Days of Our Lives star Peggy McCay) and Bruce Sterling (Ron Tomme).
The second event taking place on the soap opera is the wedding of two exciting new characters: Nate Winsor (Matthew Preston), named after the original creator of Love of Life, Roy Winsor, and Renee Latimer. The event is expected to be filled with twists and turns, raising the question of whether they will make it down the aisle.
The original series began on September 24, 1951, as a 15-minute daily drama. The series expanded to 30 minutes in 1958. Eventually, CBS canceled the soap opera with the final episode airing on February 1, 1980.
As Parade previously reported, the upcoming Love of Life revival will be an audio reimagining of the beloved CBS soap opera, serving as a continuation of the series; it will revisit former storylines while introducing brand-new ones for listeners to fall in love with all over again.
It is currently unknown where the podcast will be available, but it is expected to be available on all major podcasting platforms.
The upcoming podcast revival will be penned by Erik Andrus and Casey Hutchison, with consulting from Paul Sladkus, who served as an associate producer on the television series.
According to Daytime Confidential, production on the series is expected to begin in March of next year, with the series set to air later in 2027.
